The history of Visser's Florist began with Bill Visser,
who immigrated to the U.S. from Amsterdam at the
age of 25. Bill was an award winning floral designer
who studied in Holland and fashioned his love for
flowers and horticulture into a business in his new
country. He started in 1956, when he rented a little
building across the street from the present location.
Five years later he moved across the street. He
bought the building and began to expand the
business. Now, 50 years later, Visser's Florist is an
Anaheim and Orange County landmark encompassing
12,000 square feet of flower shop and greenhouses.
In 1986, Bill passed the flower shop down to his two
daughters Lori, and Lynda, along with their husbands
Allan and David. For the next 18 they grew the
business and in 2004 sold Visser's Florist to its
current owners, Ted and Cathy Robinson, and their
two sons Ted and Dennis.
Today, Visser's
Florist & Greenhouses is the largest flower
shop/Greenhouse in Orange County employing a staff
of 35 full-time people that faithfully continues the
tradition that Bill Visser started in 1956. Selling
hundreds of flowers, plants, European gardens and
Fruit and Gourmet baskets every day is proof positive
that Visser's is still number one in the hearts of our
customers.
