Brief History of Fullerton
The city of Fullerton in California was founded in 1887 by George and Edward Amerige. George H. Fullerton secured the land on behalf of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe railway, and thus the city of Fullerton was named after him. In 1894 Charles Chapman purchased an orange orchard within the towns borders, soon after Fullerton was known for its Valencia oranges. In 1904 Fullerton became incorporated. After WWII, and with the construction of the Interstate 5 freeway, Fullerton’s population blossomed. The current population of Fullerton consists of over 29,000 families.

The city of Fullerton holds lots of appeal for residents and tourists alike. The education systems in Fullerton is extensive. California State University Fullerton is a nationally accredited college, located on a former orange grove in northeast Fullerton. Located on the campus of California State University Fullerton is the Fullerton Arboretum. This agricultural retreat was created in 1976 and houses a botanical garden including a wide variety of beautiful flowers and plants from around the world as well as a flower filled garden devoted to children.

Fullerton is also a southern California transportation Hub, with Amtrak railways crossing at multiple junctures, and John Wayne Airport located just miles away.
